Swarnamukhi river
The Swarnamukhi flows beside the temple town and is regarded as sacred. Many devotees pause on its banks before or after darshan. The water level changes with the seasons, so visit for the setting and the quiet.
The hill shrines
A hill rises behind the temple, with shrines linked to Kannappa and Goddess Durgamba. Wear comfortable footwear, go in the morning and allow an hour or more.
Combine with Tirupati
Tirupati is 38 km away. Pilgrims often pair Srikalahasti with Tirumala, Tiruchanur and Kapila Theertham. Plan Tirumala darshan separately, as it needs its own queue and booking.
Srikalahasti Kalamkari
The town is famous for hand-drawn Kalamkari textiles. Read our Kalamkari guide before you shop.
